Working for my favorite client... MOM

I attribute 100% of my creativity to my wonderful mother (well her and my amazing talented dad- but it has to be 60/40). While I may put my ideas into my computer she has always been able to use her hands to transform simple ingredients into amazing works of art. Whether it be flowers, clay or paint the end result is always much more than the sum of the parts. Now she can even make jewelry out of paper an reclaimed materials! That's right the most beautiful paper mache I have ever seen, and it makes the jewelry so light and airy to wear.

Naturally I had to put my creativity into her new endeavor so this weekend we got her up and running on etsy, facebook and blogger. With a daughter who likes to make a graphic or two I have busted out her first branding pieces, I am sure they will transform as her art does but for now we are both very happy with the look and feel of Gee Wiz Jewelry.

Wild Wacky Women

Finally got some inspiration going and put together an invite for a really cool quarterly boutique my family friend is working on. The Wild Wacky Women putting it on sound like they are going to have a lot of fun hosting them! If you happen to live in the Grass Valley area, save the date, I am sure they'd be happy to have you.

{ and } shape up

I am so excited that I got to design a blog banner for Photograher Sarah Hull (http://sarahhullphotography.blogspot.com/) she was looking for a simple, elegant banner with the feel of the images below... with blue and grey and a non-formal font.

By taking { and } and filling in the space between I ended up with the shape below. With some free design time I am planning to work up some embellishments that may be helpful in the future similar to this.

This is how it came out, she loved it and I hope you do too!

Candyland Wonderland

Got a request today to design the text/center part of what is going to be a fun round candyland themed birthday invitation. Jennifer from Mina Crafts (http://www.minacrafts.etsy.com/) who I did the valentine's image editing for is submitting a sample of this cool invite. She sent me a link to a candy cane font, free to download. Sure would have been good at Christmas time but none-the-less wanted to share, it can always be used for your next candyland tournament invite!

Work in progress, I'll share once I have the final worked out.

Girls just wanna design!

Or at least I do, just got home from 15 hours of travel and training for my "real" job and all I want to do is wrap up some projects I have in the fire. Here is what I am working on this week.

Just a little photo editing to cut out the backgrounds of the original photos and fix the levels. Framed it for Jennifer to use send out an email blast about her alternative take to valentine's day cards.

February Newsletter finished! New layout and design for the new year and a new printing company. Fingers crossed it is a smooth transition!

Greetings from Ann Arbor

I just put in a bid to work this great vintage postcard into a couples save the date. If I get the project you will see a pretty cool idea come to life, think happy thoughts of Ann Arbor.

Photobooth Style Save The Date

I am just wrapping up a save the date for a great new client Naureen. I loved her idea to use a photobooth style graphic on the save the date. She wasn't sure if black or white would look better on the photostrip and whether to go with pink or white text on the photos. Let me know what you think and I will let you know when the final rulling is.

I will be making some edits to this design and adding it as a template to my store so if you fall in love with it, no fear, you can have your very own!
